Overview

Terra are promoting the area for a new Garden Village, incorporating a new Bypass around the village of Banwell. The area has the potential to deliver in excess of 460 dwellings alongside a mixed use village centre along with commercial and industrial uses located near the M5. The area has key links to the strategic road network and has limited policy constraints.

The area was originally earmarked for New Garden Village through the Emerging Joint Spatial Plan between Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. However, following the examination the JSP is now re-looking at the strategic development locations to ensure a sound a robust evidence base supports the allocations.

We continue to promote the area as a New Garden Village due to the limited policy constraints, high demand for growth in the surrounding area, and continued support from North Somerset District Council in the area as an allocation within planning policy.
