The proposed development, which forms part of an allocation for a new settlement in the Stratford-on-Avon District Core Strategy (2016) under Proposal GLH, is situated on land at Kingston Fields Farm, to the north of Banbury Road in Lighthorne Heath. 

Proposal GLH allocates land at Gaydon/ Lighthorne Heath to provide approximately 3,000 houses, a village centre containing a primary school, a community hub and a range of shops and services, public open space, approximately 100 hectares to enable the expansion of Jaguar Land Rover, and approximately 4.5 hectares to enable the expansion of Aston Martin Lagonda. 

The draft proposals comprise: 

  • Approximately 35 dwellings including 35% affordable housing; 
  • Pedestrian links to the wider Gaydon/Lighthorne Heath allocation for development; and 
  • One point of access from the Banbury Road (B4100).
